Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 10 October 2026
Welcome to JPConvo. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the JPConvo website, learning platform, content and services.
By accessing or using JPConvo, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
In these terms, “JPConvo”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of the JPConvo website. “You” and “your” refer to any person accessing or using our services.
1. About JPConvo
JPConvo provides Japanese-language learning resources designed to help learners develop their vocabulary, grammar, listening, pronunciation and language recall through a structured curriculum.
Our services may include lessons, audio, videos, reading exercises, flashcards, progress tracking, learning tools and other educational materials.
We may add, change, suspend or remove features and content from time to time to improve the platform or maintain its operation.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
Some JPConvo features may require you to create an account.
When creating or using an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information.
- Keep your login credentials secure.
- Notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
- Use your account for your own personal learning unless we expressly authorise another use.
- Not impersonate another person or provide misleading account information.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, except to the extent that applicable law provides otherwise.
We may restrict or suspend access to an account if we reasonably believe it has been used in breach of these terms or in a way that threatens the security or proper operation of JPConvo.
3. Use of Learning Materials
JPConvo’s learning materials are provided for educational and personal learning purposes.
Unless we expressly permit otherwise, you may not:
- Copy, reproduce or redistribute substantial portions of our lessons or curriculum.
- Share, resell or commercially exploit access to our learning materials.
- Republish our content on another website, platform or service.
- Share account credentials or provide unauthorised access to paid content.
- Use automated methods to scrape, download or systematically collect our content.
- Remove copyright notices or other ownership information from our materials.
You may use the materials for your own personal study and refer to them as reasonably necessary for that purpose.
These restrictions do not prevent uses permitted by applicable law, including any applicable exceptions for fair dealing or other statutory rights.
4. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the JPConvo website and its original content, including lesson materials, curriculum structure, written explanations, recordings, videos, graphics, branding and website design, are owned by or licensed to JPConvo and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Accessing JPConvo does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to access and use our learning materials for your personal, non-commercial learning, subject to these terms and any applicable membership conditions.
Japanese words, general language concepts and grammar rules are not claimed as our exclusive property. Our rights apply to the original materials and other content in which we hold intellectual property rights.
If you believe content on JPConvo infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us with sufficient information for us to investigate.
5. Memberships and Paid Services
JPConvo may offer free and paid features, memberships or subscriptions.
Where a paid service is offered, the applicable price, billing frequency, included features and other material conditions will be displayed before you complete your purchase.
By purchasing a paid service, you agree to pay the applicable charges and authorise the relevant payment provider to process your transaction.
We may change membership features or pricing from time to time. Any changes affecting an existing subscription will be handled in accordance with the applicable subscription terms and legal requirements. Where required, we will provide notice before changes take effect.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a membership provides access to the features included in the relevant plan and does not transfer ownership of JPConvo content to you.
6. Payments, Renewals and Cancellations
If a membership is offered as a recurring subscription, the billing frequency, renewal terms, price and cancellation method will be explained at the time of purchase.
Where recurring billing applies, your subscription may renew automatically until cancelled in accordance with the displayed subscription terms.
You are responsible for cancelling a subscription before its next renewal date if you do not wish to be charged for another billing period.
Unless otherwise stated or required by law:
- Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals but does not necessarily provide a refund for a payment already made.
- Your access may continue until the end of the paid billing period, depending on the applicable plan terms.
- Any applicable refunds will be handled in accordance with our stated refund policy and applicable law.
We may use third-party payment processors to handle payments. Their own terms and privacy policies may also apply to your transaction.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any refund, cancellation or other right you may have under applicable consumer law.
7. Free Access and Changes to the Service
We may provide certain JPConvo features or learning materials free of charge.
Unless we expressly guarantee otherwise, free access does not mean that a feature, lesson or service will remain available indefinitely.
We may introduce new features, change existing features, set usage limits or discontinue parts of the service where reasonably necessary for business, technical, security or operational reasons.
Where a change materially affects a paid service, we will handle that change in accordance with our applicable commitments and legal obligations.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree to use JPConvo lawfully and in a way that does not interfere with other users or the operation of the platform.
You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or restricted content.
- Interfere with the security, availability or normal operation of the website.
- Upload malicious code or use the service to distribute harmful material.
- Use JPConvo for unlawful purposes.
- Misuse, exploit or attempt to bypass membership restrictions or access controls.
- Use the service in a way that infringes another person’s rights.
We may investigate suspected misuse and take reasonable action, including restricting access, suspending accounts or reporting conduct where appropriate or required by law.
9. Learning Progress and Educational Results
JPConvo is designed to support your Japanese-learning journey through structured lessons and practice.
Your progress and results will depend on various factors, including your time, consistency, prior knowledge, practice and individual learning needs.
We do not guarantee that using JPConvo will result in a particular level of fluency, examination result, qualification or learning outcome within a specified period.
Curriculum progress, flashcard reviews and other learning records are intended to help you manage your studies. They should not be treated as a guarantee of mastery or perfect recall.
10. Website Availability and Accuracy
We aim to provide a reliable and useful learning experience. However, we do not guarantee that JPConvo will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every device or browser.
Maintenance, technical issues, third-party service disruptions and other circumstances may occasionally affect availability.
We may correct errors, update lessons or modify features as part of maintaining and improving the platform.
If you notice a significant error or technical issue, you may contact us so we can review it.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
JPConvo may use or link to third-party services, websites, tools or resources.
These services may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies. We do not control external websites and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
You are responsible for reviewing any third-party terms that apply when using an external service.
12. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using JPConvo at any time. If you have an account or paid subscription, separate steps may be required to close the account or cancel the subscription.
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary, including if:
- You materially breach these terms.
- Your account is involved in fraudulent, unlawful or abusive activity.
- Your use threatens the security or operation of JPConvo.
- We are required to do so by law or a competent authority.
Where reasonable and appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to resolve a breach before restricting access.
Termination does not remove rights or obligations that have already arisen. Any outstanding payment obligations and provisions intended to continue after termination will remain effective to the extent applicable.
If we discontinue a paid service, any resulting refund or other entitlement will be handled in accordance with the applicable terms and law.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, JPConvo is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website, including loss of data, learning progress, business opportunities or anticipated results.
We are not responsible for loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, subject to any rights you have under applicable law.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, statutory right, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law where it applies.
Where liability may lawfully be limited, our liability will be limited to the extent permitted by law.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for losses, claims or reasonable costs arising directly from your unlawful use of JPConvo or your material breach of these terms, where those losses are legally recoverable from you.
This clause does not apply to the extent that a loss was caused by our own conduct or where its application would be prohibited by applicable law.
15. Privacy
Your use of JPConvo is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information.
You can read our Privacy Policy here: Privacy Policy.
By using JPConvo, you acknowledge that personal information will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our services, business practices or legal obligations.
We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Where required by law or applicable contractual commitments, we will provide notice of material changes before they take effect.
Your continued use of JPConvo after updated terms take effect will be subject to the updated terms to the extent permitted by law. Where consent is legally required, we will seek it.
17. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Queensland, Australia, to the extent permitted by law.
Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts with authority to hear the matter, subject to applicable consumer protection laws and any mandatory rights you may have in your place of residence.
